This first half of the new year, I will be teaching once again at Touro College [here] in Jerusalem. I am teaching, once again, Social Psychology and the Holocaust; one course for women on Monday mornings (10:00am – 12:30pm) and one course for men on Thursday evenings at 7:00pm – 9:30pm). The option to audit these course without credit still allows many people to participate in this most poignant subject and at a fraction of the cost; please call the main office {02-651-0090 ext.1} at Touro for more information about these and other courses.
Also this semester, I will be teaching again in Ohr Somayach’s Ohr LaGolah teachers’ training college. I am scheduled to give a course, which I lectured on last year, called Practical Psychology & Rabbinical Counseling. It will, please G-d, take place on Monday evenings (9:15pm – 10:15pm). Due to these unsettling financial times, when the US economy is destabilizing many other economies, Israel has not gone unscathed. This past summer when the dollar exchange rate went as low as $3.29, we residents here in Israel saw the illogical rise in Shekel prices, when in essence the prices should have gone down to meet the dollar, they rose costing us here even more money just to pay rents, groceries & transportation cost, etc.. I have never been known as an economic genius, however to accommodate my patients (who come in suffering enough emotionally & mentally), I actually lowered my prices in my clinic from 300,-NIS to 200,-NIS per session (approx. 80 minutes).
